Τι θα κάνετε

Beginning in one of the main squares of central Rome, right in the heart of the city, we'll take a walk where you get some great views and some great hidden history, before heading into the Jewish Ghetto. This is a fascinating neighbourhood of Rome, where traditions and a keen sense of identity still loom largely. We'll talk about how this became the area it is today, from the Ancient Roman period, through the medieval age, up to the 20th and 21st Centuries. Discover some of the most romantic and tragic tales that the city has to offer. Afterwards, we'll cross the river - using the oldest bridge in the city (2100 years old!) - and can stop for a refreshing gelato, before heading into Trastevere. This is one of Rome's classic traditional areas, with small artisanal shops, great restaurants and bars, and picture postcard scenery. We'll wander down the streets, seeing how Rome's traditions have continued over the years, and seeing one of the oldest churches in the city, before ending up at one of Rome's best evening-time piazzas.

I have lived in Rome for seven years, working as a tour guide, and this city has came to be my home. Every street and every corner is filled with wonderful people, architecture, and history. Originally from the north of England, I studied a Masters in Ancient History at the University of Wales, before moving to Rome to put the knowledge to use. At times I've also lived in Florence and New York City (a little different to Rome, I know!), but Rome will always be my love, and I want to help others love it just as I do. I aim to entertain as well as teach you some of the history and secrets.

We totally enjoyed the walking tour with Benjamin and have learned a lot about the places we have visited (and even beyond). Ben is really knowledgeable and takes his time to answer all your questions. Definitely recommended!

You can tell Benjamin loves history - he was brimming with knowledge (even some quirky facts) on all the sights along our tour. He was even so kind as to accommodate my special request to learn about a specific section of the Jewish Ghetto too. Was an afternoon well spent!

Ben was a great guide, walking us through the Jewish Ghetto & Trastevere with stories of power struggles, architectural quirks, and heart wrenching oppression. Local dining & drinking recommendations were added as we strolled through quiet side streets that might otherwise have been missed. Would recommend to anyone looking for context and insight into a unique area of Rome.

Περισσότερες συμβουλές

It's a nice relaxing walk, only lasting 2 hours maximum, so don't worry too much. We end close to some nice bars and restaurants, so I can show you to them if you like at the end.
