Τι θα κάνετε
After a quick safety briefing, we leave the mooring, getting the sails up as soon as we can. We head south, giving guests a chance to try the helm and harness the power of the wind. At Calshot, we may head east or west down the Solent, taking account of the wind and tide, or cross to Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Other hidden destinations might include Buckler's Hard on the Beaulieu river, the lovely town of Lymington or the city mooring in Portsmouth. Arriving at these destinations by yacht is an awesome experience. Lunch can be a picnic in an anchorage or ashore at one of the fine pubs or restaurants, some of the hidden gems I've discovered over the years. Through my local knowledge and contacts we can also sample some of the finest English wines, now often winning awards. While on anchor, guests may chose to swim, fish, use the paddle-board, or go ashore in the dinghy for a walk. We also learn some of the most useful knots needed aboard. We finish the day with a leisurely sail back to Southampton, often waving farewell to the cruise-liners on their way to distant shores.
Ο οικοδεσπότης σας
After many years of sailing everything from tiny dinghy's to large yachts, in New Zealand, South Africa and extensively around the English Channel, I am delighted to welcome guests on board my beautiful yacht 'Sailing Grace'. I'm passionate about sharing my love of life on the water, and in-depth knowledge. Guests quickly get involved as I explain the principles and little tricks to make it easier, safer and more fun. I love sharing the exciting stories of wrecks & follies, ancient harbours and recent intrigues as we visit some of the hidden anchorages and landings in the area. Many guests have been infected by my enthusiasm for sailing after coming on board; some have even set off on adventures much further afield because of their experience on board 'Sailing Grace'.
