Blue Ridge Parkway at Fancy Gap, 80 Mile ViewWe love our long view and the utter silence just a mile off the Parkway. The country road dead-ends another half-mile down, so traffic is rare. Lots of walkable paths and such. The large deck faces South so the morning will come to you. Evenings are fun to watch the dusk cover the Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain 25 miles across the way as the lights of Mt. Airy twinkle 1,800 feet below. Our very favorite time is when the clouds lay below us like a carpet with the sun above. Why leave?

Old Man Kelsey’s CottageThis is a cozy house two miles from historic downtown Mount Airy (Mayberry) NC, and within blocks of dozens of restaurants and shops. It is close to the hospital.
