Barrio Santa Teresita is the real Bogota - safe, solid, working-class - and certainly not a designer-tourist spot - though any of those can be reached easily, quickly and cheaply.
The barrio is quirky, too, with some extravagant architecture (check out the church!), a small but pleasant river ('Rio Arzobispo'), and some stunning street art.

'I' am actually 'we', and we are Malcolm and Olga. Malcolm is British, and (typically!) speaks only English; Olga is Colombian, a native of this city, and (thus) speaks Spanish, and English, with a little French and Portuguese. We are both academics in the social sciences. We are new to hosting but have travelled several times staying with Airbnb hosts and have always been extremely impressed with their places and personalities; so we decided to join them! We have travelled extensively in Europe and the Americas looking for beauty and warmth; though of course both can be found here at home in Colombia, as we hope our guests will discover for themselves.

We will be available for advice or help throughout your stay (unless we tell you otherwise when you book) but prefer to stay in the background. However, we plan to be present at your arrival and will be contactable at all times. We will provide maps, local guide books, and other useful information to make your stay as interesting and trouble-free as possible. Olga is a Bogotana born-and-bred and speaks (therefore) native Spanish, fluent English and a smattering of French and Portuguese. Malcolm, a Brit, only speaks - of course! - English; but does know the area and the city very well.
