The cabin is located in stunning scenery, nestled midway between Carningli Mountain, Ty-Canol ancient oak woodland & the foothills of the Preselis & only 3 miles from the sea. With an outdoor hot tub, it's easy to kick back and relax.
Our fully insulated wooden cabin is just a couple of miles from Newport, Pembrokeshire. The cabin perches on the top of one of a series of 3 nearby mounds (the origin of which is still unclear, but you can see the other two from the garden) and over looks stunning scenery. The building is sunny, warm, light and airy, with a woodburning stove for when the weather is cooler. The water is heated by solar panels and a log boiler down in the main house. The hotub and garden has lovely views and you can sit back and enjoy incredible sunsets behind carningli mountain. Guests and friends often tell us that they have not slept and relaxed so well for a long time. Maybe it's because there are very few places left in Britain where you cannot hear the hum of a busy road or the sound of vehicles every few minutes. Here at the cosy Cabin, the small lanes are extremely quiet and you are completely surrounded by nature. All around you are hills, mountains, wooded valleys, streams and great mature oaks, ash and sycamore. Except for the neighbouring farm buildings, you could easily believe that you are tens of miles from civilisation; yet just over the side of Carningli (the rocky ancient volcano you can see from the garden) and only 3 miles away is the small bustling town of Newport. Newport is a tiny town that has an incredible variety of attractions including farmers market (on Mondays), award winning cafes, pubs and restaurants, local shops and art galleries and of course the sea with a beautiful sandy beach, cliff walks and sandunes. Before going into more detail I need to be clear on the location and type of property this is. The cabin has a compost loo which is a dry system that works without a flush, where the waste is converted into fertile soil for the apple trees. The loo does not smell bad in case you were wondering, but is not the same as a flush toilet. Access to the cabin involves some steep steps and a slightly uneven path with some leaves and loose small stones. It is not a modern set-up with a tarmac driveway with all the latest mod-cons (unless you're talking super comfortable beds, cooking, showering and hotub!) The best thing to do before booking is read through a number of reviews as well as much of the description as possible to get a feel for the place to make sure it's right for you. The cabin is open plan with a large curtain to separate the downstairs bedroom. There is a king size bed downstairs and a double mattress upstairs, and a travel cot if needed. We only make up the downstairs bed when there is one person or a couple staying, but if you'd prefer to sleep upstairs, just let us know before your stay. There is an electric shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom. The garden has chairs and there is a veranda for undercover outside dining. The outdoor electric hot tub is partly powered by the solar panels in the garden (as is the whole cabin), and it is hot and ready to use all the time. We will need access to the hot tub to check the levels, change filters etc if needed, but we always try to do this while guests are out. While we do provide a set of towels (one bath towel and one hand towel per guest), it might be an idea to bring an extra towel for the hot tub, and maybe a dressing gown. Some slip on shoes would also be useful for going between the cabin and the hot tub. As we are out in the sticks, mobile service is intermittent, but most networks can get signal somewhere, even if it means a trip to the garden or short walk into the field. There is no landline or internet in the cabin. We have been toying with the idea of getting the cabin connected, however, every single guest (even those that were expecting wifi) have told us at the end of their stay they were so happy not be distracted by their mobile phones, email etc. And that their experience was so much richer for it that we should definitely not introduce it... being cut off from social media addiction for even just a few days is incredibly relaxing and refreshing and is so rare these days. It is easy to forget how good for the mind the experience of spending quality time together, reading, playing games, talking and being able to completely relax is. So if you are worried about being off screen for a few days, don't be, as it really does make for a fantastic experience. Many of the pubs etc in newport do have free wifi if you do need to get online. If you would like to have a tv with DVD player please enquire and we should be able to provide without issue The cabin is self catering, and the kitchen is fully equipped, with a fridge, kettle, toaster and an induction cooker and Samsung oven which are super efficient and a pleasure to use. Some basics are provided, like salt, pepper, some herbs and spices and cooking oil. There will be complimentary tea and coffee (ground, for the caffetiere). There is no washing machine, but I would be happy to do a wash for you at a cost of £2 a load. We also have a dryer, which would be an extra £2, but there is also a drying line outside the cabin. Newport has a launderette too, opposite the Golden Lion pub. Bedding and bathroom towels are provided. If it's raining, there is a fantastic new local cafe in Newport called Pwnc that has an indoor climbing wall free for cafe customers and great for kids. there are also great indoor theme parks like Blue Lagoon etc. not too far away, and the hotub can be fun in the rain. There are a host of other fair weather types of activities close at hand too.
North Pembrokeshire is much quieter than the south and has a unique combination of rocky outcrops, stunning beaches and coastal path, wooded valleys and enclaves, friendly neighbours and a night sky with hardly any light pollution, resulting in a fantastic the view of the stars. The more well-known stunning beaches of Newport, Poppit and Whitesands are interspersed with little gems that are much quieter and actually often much more beautiful such as Cwm Yr Eglwys only a few miles away. The neighbourhood is a mix of traditional welsh farmers, smallholdings and people that have chosen a sustainable path and live off the land (this includes communities such as Lammas and Brithdir Mawr, as well as groups of families that share giant vegetable growing plots and a cow where each household takes a turn at milking!), stone farmhouses and cottages interspersed with hobbit style dwellings and homes made from natural materials. The Gwaun Valley that starts at our property is a sight in itself. Its vast densely wooded sides leads down to a welsh community that has culturally changed very little for centuries. They still celebrate their own new year, have a primary school still running strong with only 24 pupils in total and have a pub that is old as they come and only serve beer from jugs. There are plenty of beautiful sights and places of interest within walking distance along beautiful winding quiet backroads. The large organically farmed field next door with the large oak tree atop an ancient mound is ours and provides a stunning short walk or sports/activity ground (we have football nets to borrow), depending on the livestock! Ty canol woods (less than 1 mile away) is home to an ancient stunted oak woodland, rocky outcrops and carpeted in mosses and lichens, it is like walking into a fairytale book. The woods lead on to the larger rocky outcrops of Carnau meibion Owen which looks out to the preseli hills and also the ancient burial chamber of Pentre Ifan. The heather strewn slopes of Carningli mountain (less than 1 mile away) are well worth a climb, the views from on top are spectacular. Newport has a stunning large sandy beach with dunes and is great for swimming. The town of Newport has become famous for its array of great cafes, restaurants and shops including a wholefood shop, butchers, hardware store, fishmongers (specialising in locally caught fish), pharmacy, newsagents, craft collective, antique centre, Spar and a local produce market on a Monday morning. Our closest neighbours (300 yards ish), Simon and Kerry at Tyriet farm have opened a micro brewery (Bluestone brewing co.), and you can drop in and pick up a bottle or three of their finest ales.

Quiet Earth Eco House; A really magical place; Grand Designs Eco home award winner 2008 is a two storey loadbearing straw bale house (first in the UK). A luxurious off grid home, offering a truly sustainable experience in a very beautiful and quiet haven. Situated in St Dogmaels on a hilltop overlooking breathtaking views of Cardigan estuary, close to local beaches and the Pembrokeshire coastal footpath. We look forward to supporting your retreat here and sharing the many gifts of this place.
This straw bale eco retreat home was self built between 2003-05 and generated much attention due to it's unique nature. Please read the full description before booking! It is a beautiful peaceful retreat centre, offering special time to relax in an untouched woodland upon a hill overlooking spectacular views of the Teifi estuary. There are various idyllic beaches within a couple of miles of here and many inspiring walks. We are two miles from the start of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. It is also an off grid home, powered by the sun and the wind and this is one of it's important features, giving one the opportunity to experience living with the elements and being powered by them. Low energy appliances may be used with awareness such as occasional laptops etc. (no hairdryers/ straighteners or heating appliances). The Nature of this place does also invite the visitor to just enjoy being switched off for a while and to experience the gifts of the environment. Downstairs you will find a large open plan kitchen and living room with a wood stove which heats the whole house. There is a downstairs bathroom in a rounded stone turret with sunken bath and rain water harvested toilet. Water is solar heated and back boiler heated in the winter. The house offers a long conservatory to enjoy the stunning estuary views. We have 2 delightful and gentle cats here called Elma and Arthur in the house and then daphne the dog who will be with us in the eco lodge close by. We can arrange at times for the cats to be out of the house and use the conservatory for short periods. If you have serious cat allergies however this may not be for you. Upstairs offers a beautiful and spacious open plan room which offers itself as a luxury bedroom and studio for a couple or a space for family or occasionally a retreat space for a group of up to 8 with low futon style beds. We have also now opened up the large beautiful attic bedroom as an extra room with a double mattress and space for more. This is accessible by ladder. In the warmer months there occasionally is a self contained eco lodge too. The wood fired hot tub will Only be available from early summer at certain discretionary times for long staying guests who can enjoy the ritual of gathering wood, heating the stove and then bathing under the stars. Please note; this takes a good few hours to prepare and so is Not available for short stays due to the sustainable aspect of this centre. The woodland is terraced, with paths for visitors to explore and we are currently developing a forest garden. We also encourage artists and writers in residence to spend time here working in a natural and supportive environment on a project. We can offer subsidy for this also at times. Please note; this is a natural straw bale/ clay built home and we hire a wonderful cleaner to scrub the place...we use no chemicals in the process.. it is perfectly clean in the best eco natural way possible. Yes, there can be spiders and insects around in the summer.. please bear this in mind as a natural part of living close to Nature.
The beauty of this place is all that Nature has to offer along with the gifts of many of the creative people living in the nearby village and surrounding area. There are many circular walks for which we can give directions. We are situated at the beginning of the pembrokeshire coastal path and close to an array of stunning beaches. Our local beaches Poppit and Mwnt have regular sitings of bottle nosed dolphins and seals. Cardigan town is a few miles away along the estuary and offers shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema, spa and a heritage centre. In the heart of the village is a ruined Abbey, a visitors centre and cafe. The village offers a good few pubs along the river, a wonderful deli with homemade produce and cafe. We encourage guests to visit our local produce markets and organic market gardens. Most foods can be bought locally. The gift of this home is that it is secluded in a woodland and yet a walking distance to the village estuary and beaches.

The Stable is a recently converted barn in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with great views of the sea and fields. It is a good place for couples, solo adventurers, hikers, bird watchers, seal spotters and stargazers who are looking for peace and tranquillity. The spectacular coastal path is a short walk away. The stable is eco-friendly and comfortable with underfloor heating, modern media facilities and a bathroom that has received much praise from our guests.
This 19th century stable was converted to a small house two years ago. It has one bedroom on a mezzanine. It has great views and is located at the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. It is very quiet here and gets very dark at night.
The Stable is part of Ty Isaf Farm, of which the main farmhouse has not had the restoration it deserves yet. We are not building at the moment. The farm has a private drive off a dead-end road in the pretty hamlet of Llanwnda on the Strumble peninsula.

The Tree House is elevated and built amongst the tree tops. It has a cosy, spacious and light ambience . A short walk through a wooded valley, following a pretty stream with a mill pond leads to a quiet and sheltered cove that's good for swimming with a natural diving pool in the rocks refilled with every tide. Or enjoy the spectacular views of the Pembrokeshire National Park. Please note, bookings between 18th July and 29th August 1 week minimum changeover on Saturday.
The unique location and access to the coastal path and cove is a great draw. There is a sense of being in the trees as it’s built on the side of a National Trust valley which holds the highest conservation status. Also, check out our famous tree swing, just below the property. We moved here because we can just walk out of the house with a cup of tea in hand and stroll to the headland in minutes, stepping into wilderness. My dream was to live in a place with nothing between me and the sea.
The house is 5 minutes drive to St Davids, Britain's smallest city, which has numerous restaurants, cafe's, activity centres including some of the best surfing in the UK and heritage sites. The village of Solva, also 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk, is considered one the prettiest harbour villages in the UK with pubs and shops for visitors as well as boating facilities. You can walk to both along the spectacular coast path and get a regular bus back to the Pink House. Guide Book for The Pink House/Tree House and Shepherds Hut This is by no means an exhaustive list of the places I love to visit or eat and drink in: Solva: Mam gu – Amazing Welsh cakes baked on the premises. Lots of different flavours as well as the traditional version. Based on a recipe passed down in the owners family. Also lovely coffee and a variety of herbal teas as well as food. The Lavender Café in Raoul Speeks Gallery. Eat delicious homemade cakes and drinks surrounded by art and Heather’s photo’s. Strong Cuban influence infused with Welsh flavours. Back coast road between St Davids and Croesgoch near Berea. Perennial Garden and Café SA62 6DB – Newly opened and my very favourite place at the moment. Very interesting range of coffees and teas. My daughter had coffee from Lake Atitlan in Guatamala (having swum in this sacred lake on her Gap Year) and I had Earl Grey with Blue Flowers. The tasty sandwiches came with organic salad. You can also buy bags of salad and the most beautiful bunches of flowers. I’ve decided to cycle across the Dowrog Common to get there next time I visit. The Druidstone SA62 3NE I have always loved “The Dru” as it is affectionately known. A hotel set on cliffs overlooking St Brides Bay. The beach below is accessed down a steep winding path with the best rock pools for blennies we’ve found. Eat in the posh restaurant and watch the sunset or in the cellar bar where you can choose to sit outside on the terrace or in the walled garden. Full of art work and host for various music and drama events. Porthgain Interesting walks through fascinating industrial architecture and coastal walks where you hear and catch sight of Grey Atlantic seal pups with their mothers. Here you can visit the Sloop Pub which has a great outdoor sun trap of a terrace. Watch your children playing on the green as you relax and catch the last rays of the setting sun. Or get fish and chips from The Shed – a restaurant that specialises in local freshly caught fish. Nearby is The Blue Lagoon. Enjoy cliff jumping here, the site of the Red Bull championships. Learn how to jump safely first please – google it! My sons friend dislocated both his shoulders by not taking due care. Well worth the 45min trip up the coast for an outstanding meal in the restaurant or cellar bar or outside in the garden. Children and dog friendly. Great art and ceramics. I am bias of course because my daughter Louise and her husband Ed own the hotel and restaurant / Ceramics by Adam Buick (son-in-law)/Art by a selection of the best artists in Pembrokeshire. While you are there visit The Witches Cauldron, an extraordinary geological feature On a calm day swim through the caves and arches at low tide. And of course visit Whitesands Bay – café and amenities have not spoilt the natural beauty of this wonderful beach. Watc the local surfers zoom down to the beach when they hear the surfs up. I love the walk to St Davids Head from Whitesands. If you’re feeling energetic walk around Carnliddi or up and over the top. See if you can spot the cromlechs that are littered around – a slight exaggeration! On our little hand written map , where Wrecks are written check out this story on google. The 3 tugs were shipwrecked in 1981 the year before we moved here. My children loved playing on them and its well worth a scramble down the well worn (though not obvious) cliff path to see how the beach is strewn with tortured metal from the tugs. Talking about which- in the inaccessible cove beyond Elephants Head (written about by a travel writer in the 50’s as a place that tourists will flock to in the future like they do to Wookey Hole in The Cheddar Gorge) you may spy smugglers steps hewn into the promontory on the Solva side – my children tell me now how they used to climb down them (my blood runs cold at the thought)!! And before I finish this weeney guide book – I want to tell you how I told my daughter off for exaggerating when she said that the sea was really warm in the cove. I had to apologise because I was astonished to find that it was – and I am a real coldy custard. Because the south facing cove has pillars of black rock that get warmed during the day if the tide’s out, they act like storage radiators and warm the water significantly when the tide comes in at the end of the afternoon. (you’ve got to get the conditions just right though) I hope this gives you a taste of this lovely area and what it has to offer. Please let us know in the guest book what you have enjoyed during your stay here.

Goodwick, Wales, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο

Welcome to my place on the North Pembrokeshire Coastal Path! Overlooking Fishguard & Goodwick harbour with miles of stunning coastline as a backdrop, this is an ideal setting for anyone seeking some peace & quiet in a safe & friendly neighbourhood. Cân-Y-Môr has a double & a twin bedroom upstairs & a single bedroom downstairs. The family Shower room & toilet is upstairs & there's a downstairs toilet. There is a spacious lounge/diner, kitchen, sunroom, patio & pebbled garden and a driveway.
My place is idealy situated on the edge of the oustandingly beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The coastal path, a walker's paradise, runs through my neighbourhood. Down the hill and within a mile are restaurants, cafes, bars, small cinema/ theatre, art galleries, churches, shops, post office, chemists, a library, sandy beaches, hill ranges, historic sites, a leisure centre, a Spa & much more, there's something for everyone! The local bus service runs hourly to and from here connecting with buses on Fishguard square. There are taxi services locally. The Tourist Information Centre is located in Fishguard Town Hall.
Harbour Village is a peaceful, friendly and safe place to be where residents are welcoming and helpful. It was originally built around 1900 to house the workers building the railway and harbour. These days, the houses are all or mostly privately owned and lived in. Many of the residents have lived here for over fifty years. There are some food shops, a Post Office, ATM, bars and restaurants at the bottom of the hill in Goodwick and there are many more a mile away in Fishguard which also has a Farmer's market on Saturdays where you can buy local produce. You can walk down the hill to Goodwick or catch a bus. Large supermarkets and high street stores such as Marks & Spencer & Debenhams can be found in Haverfordwest, about 15 miles south. Cardigan with a variety of small shops and supermarkets is about 18 miles north. With the coming of the railway, Goodwick beach quickly became a destination for day trippers and holiday makers from industrial towns in South Wales. In the past Goodwick had its own important industries - brickmaking and fishing. These days it is mostly a residential and unspoilt tourist area, being on the edge of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Some small scale fishing still takes place, mostly from the pretty Lower Town harbour which can be seen looking right from bedroom 2, upstairs. Goodwick Sands is where the defeated French invasion force assembled prior to surrendering on 24 February 1797. The last invasion treaty was signed in The Royal Oak tavern which is still open on Fishguard Square and a Last Invasion Tapestry can be viewed in the town hall opposite. Just behind the houses on the opposite side of the street are three small Neolithic cromlechs which can be reached via a footpath near the entrance to Harbour Village. At Goodwick Seafront the Ocean Lab has activities for children including exploring the beach as a habitat and recording sightings of flora and fauna. It also has a small aquarium. There is a café/restaurant there too.

Pembrokeshire is a popular tourist attraction and has much to satisfy a diverse range of tastes. There is far too much to list everything to do in the local area but loads of information can be found at the Pembrokeshire Tourist Information Centres. Below are a few of our favourite things. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. One of the most spectacular coastal walks in the country and one of the most dramatic sections is all but a 30 minute walk from the cottage. Wild flower and Bird Watching. With it’s national park and conservation areas, coastlines, offshore islands (teeming with puffins, razorbills, shearwaters, storm petrels and chough) and the Pembrokeshire hedges the area is a popular destination for nature lovers. Foxgloves, pink campion, snowdrops, woodland carpets of bluebells, gorses and heathers is but to name a few of the many flowers. These are also the hunting grounds for the buzzards and peregrine falcons that inhabit the area. Seal Watching. September and October are the best months to see the pups, a nice early evening walk from the cottage to one of the best seal watching beaches in the UK stopping to watch the sunset into the sea on the way back from Garn Fawr. You may even see some dolphins, porpoises, whales or basking sharks. Beaches. Walk, cycle or drive to the beautiful pebble beaches of Aber Bach and Aber Mawr, take a BBQ, go for a swim, walk in the bluebell woods or fish for mackerel. Sandy beaches can be easily found a little further away, the beautiful beaches of Whitesands and Newgale are good for bathing, sand castles and surfing. Cycling. Explore the surrounding lanes, beaches and villages by following the national cycle routes or for off road fun visit the nearby Preseli Hills or Llys-y-Frân reservoir . Island Wildlife Visits. Take a boat trip to one of the many islands that surround the Pembrokeshire coast. Ramsey and Skomer Islands are great destinations to see an abundance of wildlife. Eating and Drinking Out. The surrounding area has a high number of very good restaurants and there are many cafes and old world pubs to enjoy. Castles. Pembrokeshire has much more than its fair share of castles. See where the Tudor dynasty was born in Pembroke, amble amongst the ruins of Carew castle and Manorbrier. Visit the unusual 13th century castle at Picton or see Cardigan Castle as featured on the BBC’s Restoration programme. Crafts and Galleries. Pembrokeshire has long been a haven for artists. The large number of quality galleries and craft centres testifies this. Visit some of the galleries and sculpture gardens, spend a day learning how to throw pots or bring your paints or camera and find out why so many artists have drifted to this part of the world.

Goodwick, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο

3 bed stone cottage that sits in a scenic elevated position above the town of Goodwick, close to the wonderful Wales coastal path and also very convenient for the ferry to Rosslare Ireland. It was one of the 3 original properties built in the area, dating to 1770. A good base for exploring Pembrokeshire year-round.
There are two receptions; A sitting room to the right with flat screen JVC TV/DVD combo, books/games etc. On the left is the dining room accommodating six at the table, and a small nook with a Yamaha home organ. Wifi is included and the router is also located in the dining room. Both have electric fire places. A small step up leads into a hallway and the fully equipped kitchen, which has a newer washer/dryer combo and an American style fridge. Kitchen back door leads to a large completely enclosed garden safe for children. There is a pub style bench, Chimnea fire, and a patio set/umbrella (stored in the garden shed during winter). The cushions for the patio set are stored in the airing cupboard. Back inside the house; the hallway has an attractive wood/glass partition that leads to the mid level bathroom and stairs. Bathroom has full bath, power shower and an elegant vanity unit. In the airing cupboard you will find spare sheets, towels, high chair, clothes horse, ironing board etc. Upstairs are three bedrooms, each offering pleasant views. Master bedroom has a double bed, second bedroom has wooden bunk beds (new 2019) and one single bed, and the third bedroom a single bed. The property is best for max 4 adults, and the bunks for children (although adults can of course also sleep on the bunks if req'd). Linen and towels are provided, and the beds are made up for your arrival. Central heating and hot water is controlled via a Nest thermostat, so easy to operate and plenty of hot water on demand. Off road parking for 2/3 cars is provided at the front. The property is easy to find; Drive as if you are going to the ferry terminal, go around the roundabout and straight on until you come to the Rose & Crown pub. Turn left there (Quay Rd) and proceed right up to the top of the hill, and as you round the bend at the top, the property will be directly in front of you. The Coastal Path, voted in the National Geographic one of the finest walks in the world starts a mile away, and is a great place to begin, either heading down toward St Davids, or the other way toward Newport, Cardigan etc. Strumble Head (3 miles away) is one of the top 3 bird watching places in the UK. Pembrokeshire is blessed with some excellent restaurants and pubs, galleries and craft shops, guided walks, ancient stone circles and cromlechs; miles of sandy beaches; the Fishguard tapestry; bike and horse riding and water sports etc..
There are three pubs at the bottom of the hill, one in particular (Rose & Crown) completely refurbished and offering excellent food. Also a village shop/post office, hairdressers, fish and chip shop and a Tesco express and Spar just further down for those essentials. Goodwick beach is a 15 minute walk (or 5 min drive) and has an outdoor playground. There is also a cafe with an indoor playroom for babies and toddlers. You also have the ferry to Ireland just at the bottom of the hill which can add a further option to your stay.

Romantic farm cottage near the coast, with stunning mountain views. Enjoy peace and quiet in an unspoilt landscape, yet just a short walk from the historic village of Nevern, with its ancient church and traditional pub. Nearby Newport has cafes, restaurants and galleries and is only a 5 minute drive away, as is the famous Pembrokeshire coast path. Sandy beaches, secluded coves, woodland and mountain walks are all within easy reach. A perfect retreat for a couple wanting to get away from it all.
The Cart House is stylishly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, so you can make the most of your stay in beautiful North Pembrokeshire. It's an interesting 'upside down' cottage, with the open plan living area on the first floor and the bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Both floors have doors leading to the private patio where you will find both a barbecue, table and chairs, and an array of potted plants - perfect for al fresco eating or just star gazing. The cottage has a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire and electric heating throughout. The comfortable double bed has feather duvets and pillows and crisp cotton sheets (non feather substitutes are available for allergy sufferers). The cottage is on a farm, in a very quiet and peaceful part of Pembrokeshire. Alice is also an artist and has a small studio and gallery in the farmhouse.
We are in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, world renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. Just a short walk away is the historic village of Nevern, with its family run pub, the Trewern Arms, charming St. Brynach's church, 10th century Celtic cross and 5th century Ogham Stone. A short walk from the church brings you to the ancient Pilgrims Path, used for hundreds of years by pilgrims making their way to St. Davids. You can literally follow the Pilgrims footsteps, worn away over the centuries into the slate. The path follows the banks of the beautiful Nevern river until it reaches the sea at stunning Newport Bay. There are some fabulous walks along the coastal path, as well as beaches and coves, too numerous to mention. We are a 5 minute drive to the sea and during the summer a local bus company runs a shuttle service along the coast for walkers. The Preseli Hills are also a magical place, with numerous neolithic sites dotted throughout the area and numerous footpaths and bridle ways to explore. Nearby Newport is a pretty seaside town offering a fantastic array of eateries. We also have art galleries, an antique shop, a local butcher, wholefood shop, hardware store, Post Office, Chemist and small supermarket. There's an interesting street market held every Monday and the community run Memorial Hall has a vibrant and varied mixture of cultural events and activities running throughout the year. The Cart House is a 10 minute drive from the old county town of Cardigan, which has 2 supermarkets (Tesco and Aldi) and a variety of shops along its pretty High Street. It's also worth a visit to Theatre Mwldan, which hosts a great selection of films, theatre, comedy and music events. For adventurous types there are a wealth of activities on offer, from sea kayaking and coasteering, to paragliding and surfing. Visitors to the area are often struck by something else that is rarely mentioned in the tourist brochures, and that is the warmth of the local people. We live in a very welcoming community and we all hope you'll enjoy you're stay here.

The luxury kitchen is again bedecked with mid-century furniture, "found" objects and a bespoke kitchen with Smeg induction range and state of the art coffee machine. Sea views come as standard. The double height bedroom (the original, grade II listed building) has a luxury super-king size bed, organic cotton Toast linen, bluetooth DAB radio and a cosy window seat. The bathroom is brimming with 1930s style, with bath, overhead & handheld shower and organic soap & body wash. There is also plenty of hanging space in the large hallway, and places to put muddy boots (or dogs!)
Rocket is just a leisurely stroll (on a quiet country lane) from Poppit Sands, an utterly charming strip of golden sand, dunes and rockpools, with wonderfully clear waters and enough swell to challenge even the most seasoned surfer! Poppit's dunes are home to some very unusual wildlife (bee orchids & adders) and the lanes around Rocket are awash with wildflowers in the Spring/Summer. A short walk up the hill on the same lane (a no through road, so virtually no traffic) will lead you to Cemaes Head, a highly treasured piece of the wild, beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. From the spectacular clifftops it is possible to see multitudes of seals, dolphins and other sea & bird life. One of the loveliest things about Rocket is that you don’t have to travel far to find the most perfect beaches, countryside, wildlife or walking; it’s all right on the doorstep!

The Lower Coach-house is situated on the slopes of a wooden valley overlooking the fishing harbour of Lower Town. It is completely self contained offering a haven of peace and quiet with sea views from every room. The apartment, below the owners home is part of an attractive characterful, stone building, approached by a flight of stone steps. It is comfortable furnished and has an area of lawn and patio with views towards the harbour. There is about 100m to the town square and Coastal Path.
Fishguard is the site of the last invasion of main land Great Britain. Goodwick the twin town is the ferry port to Ireland. It's a friendly place with about 15 pubs, restaurants and we have a Folk festival in late May and Jazz festival late August
