We'll adapt your day according to wildlife sightings, weather conditions, and traffic flow for better enjoyment. We will teach you how to milk a cow. *At the beginning we allow you time to spend with the animals. Petting, brushing, or just hanging out with them. *Next we take you through what we feed our animals and how we care for them. We can talk about what goes into the cleanliness of the process and getting everything ready. *We will then go through the experience of milking the cow (whether by hand or with the machine, you decide). Allowing you to do as much of the work as you feel comfortable with. *Afterwards we will strain the milk and get it cooled and clean up. *Before you leave we will give you the opportunity to taste any of the products from our farm with the option to purchase milk at a 50% discount. *Congrats! You will have milked a cow!

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We'll begin with an in-depth tour of our Past Worlds gallery and end with a behind-the-scenes visit inside our Paleo Lab. In the gallery, we will talk about dinosaurs found in Utah (some known exclusively from our own collections) and explore the ecosystems and adaptations that make these animals so fascinating. Inside the Paleo Lab, we will get a sneak peek at the projects that our paleontology volunteers are working on and learn about the techniques used to prepare our most recent discoveries. The tour is for adults and teens 13 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum number of participants is 10. Admission is complementary with purchase of the experience. Admission fees cannot be deducted from the package price. Tour length is approximately 2 hours or so, depending on group discussions. Face masks are optional and not required.

Do something incredibly unique, climb huge trees 100-200 ft tall, including some rare old-growth trees. Explore and learn about unique ecosystem and wildlife of trees. A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

Early morning is the best time to visit the Golden Gate Bridge! Without lots of people around, there is less noise (although a bit more cold) and a chance to see more of the bridge's amazing structure and views. If we're lucky, Goldie might also be playing her foghorns- ok then, it may not be so quiet! Our 90 min walking tour of the Golden Gate Bridge will start with it's history over the past 85 years sharing stories and historic photos as well as a walk around and under the bridge. We'll also have some great stops to take some amazing photos! We'll meet at the flagpole near the Roundhouse Cafe, and tour the areas on both the west and east side of the plaza. The lesson will start on the sand with a safety talk as well as an overview of surf conditions and techniques for how to stand up. After the briefing, we will run straight to the water where you will get over an hour of ocean time with the instructor. Most people don’t realize how tiring surfing can be so we have found an hour of paddling and surfing to be the most students can handle before they are too tired to continue progressing in one session. Our instructors will help guide you out to the line up as well as help push you into waves and coach your techniques. Catching a wave is one of the hardest things to learn in surfing so having the extra momentum of an instructor is extremely helpful. You will also have the constant watch of an ocean professional to make sure you’re not only learning correctly but safe the entire time.

I like to personalize hikes to everyone's specific needs (easy or hard trails - near the beach/oceanview, seeing the green hills-seasonal, waterfall/creekside, etc). From there, we set aside 1.5-2 hours and just hike and enjoy the scenery. I carry water, snacks, and any other necessities, and also double as a photographer. Sometimes we do quizzes on flowers/animals/insects seen (fun for kids). I also have nature books for local flowers, birds and the history of the area. We enjoy the views from the top for as long as you like, (we can eat, drink, take photos) before heading down the hill. I can also provide a copy of the trail map that we complete or send ideas for other local hikes (pls. ask ahead of time). Our electric bike guided tour is a great way to see the enchanting world full of spectacular coastal views, iconic golf courses, and the most photographed tree in the world. You will ride from our bike shop which is located in the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa right next to the Coastal Recreation Trail. Your guide will take you to all of the best spots along Monterey Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, and Pebble Beach. You'll pass landmarks such as The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Lovers Point, Point Piños Lighthouse, Spanish Bay Lodge and Links, Bird Rock, Point Joe, The Lone Cypress, and Crocker Grove, which is home to the largest and oldest Cypress trees in existence. Have you ever hiked under a full moon, surrounded by mountains and distant city lights? Now is your chance! Beginners to advanced, all levels are welcome. We will do a 1-2 hour hike in the Rocky Mountains within a 45 drive from Denver. We will meet at a meeting spot near the city and will carpool to the trailhead. We'll have an exhilarating hike in the mountains with moon shadows, moonlit views, take a few snack and water breaks, make new friends, get some exercise and breathe in the fresh mountain air! In the winter months, I'll provide "Yak Traks" that you put on your shoes to improve the traction on ice and snow. The hike will be easy to moderate for people in good physical shape, but it can be very challenging for people who do not exercise regularly and are not used to altitude. The hike's elevation will be somewhere between 6,000 and 12,000 ft. Other things to note I can fit 4 people in my car. If more than 4 people sign up, you will need to provide your own transportation to the trailhead.

We will visit a handful of my favorite establishments on and around Pearl Street from the east end to the west end. Some places will be a more formal sit down dining experience and others will be a quicker stop (such as a bite of street food), but all featured establishments will be locally owned and genuinely places I love. We will walk approximately one mile through the heart of downtown Boulder and visit unique spaces that may include Middle Eastern cuisine, a local apothecary, a James Beard nominated restaurant, Nepalese street food, Boulder's best Spanish eatery, a tiki bar, and indulge at our local chocolate boutique. This tour will introduce you to Boulder and our food scene and leave you feeling like a local. I have relationships with more than twenty establishments and we will explore 6-8 different ones on each tour.
