The tram is a fun day trip. I'd recommend carving out some time to go up, hike, explore and then either picnic or eat at the Summit Grill! You don't have to spend all day but I'd suggest taking some time to. If you don't have a lot of time I'd still recommend and ride to the top and a few minutes hiking, the views are incredible!
