Food scene

The food is seasonal and always great. It´s a great place to share a number of smaller plates.

Fantastic food, a little on the pricier side but very worth it. Be brave when you order! They have made a twist to some local classics and do it very well.

Wonderful wholesome food, vegetarian, only open during the day. Tasty lunch and the cakes are great. If it is sunny the tiny urban backyard is a great spot to have lunch.

Great bakery. The poor mans offer includes a bagel with single topping, super nice doughnut and a drink/coffee and costs around 1000kr. Very good. They also have a burger place which is good.

Bathing culture

Manmade very nice lagoon and spa experience with great views over the ocean. Nicely designed with a great sauna. I recommend going through the 7 step ritual, it really adds a lot. They serve lunch and dinner there which i haven´t tried. You have to book time. Notice the turf wall as you enter the building, it´s made in a traditional way, same as the turf houses were made in ancient times here.

A must go! It´s so beautiful. Houses the works of sculptor Einar Jónsson who was a pioneer in Iceland in the first half of the 1900´s. The sculpture garden is open 24/7 but I do recommend going into the building, you want regret it.

Serene open air museum where you can enter houses from various perids, amongst them turf houses that give a good idea about how life used to be in Iceland 80-150 years ago. Much has happened since then!
