If you go to visit Makarska stop to eat at Konoba Kalalarga. It is a small traditional restaurant in the Makarska old town. They serve daily menues, mostly fish, depending on the local fish catches. Fish you should definitely but also traditional vegetable and meat dishes, especially pasticada (stewed beef dish cooked in special sauce). Very good prices.

Food is excellent, especially the meat dishes like pepper beefsteak. Fish and vegetables are very fresh. Prices are moderate and the service is very fast. Mala Barka is located right next to the beach so you have a perfect view. While the other restaurants closer to the centre of the village tend to be very busy, in Mala Barka you can enjoy your meal and the view in quiet atmosphere.

The story of Split is already 17 centuries old, dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city Salona, where he wanted to spend the last years of his life. During these 1700 years the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. In the last it's food and nightlife scene is blooming.
