Sightseeing Advice
Cape Town and its suburbs surround The Cape Peninsula National Park, stretching along the mountain chain from Table Mountain to Silvermine, and beyond via green belts to Cape Point Reserve.
Best to climb up and take cable car down. Steep, quick route is Platteklip Gorge on front face (about 2 hours); most scenic hike is Skeleton Gorge from Kirstenbosch Gardens, but you will need to give yourself 4 hours. Be prepared for weather changes; take wind-breaker and enough water.
