Food Scene

From BlogTO: Paris Paris is first and foremost an all-day wine bar. The 1500-square foot space used to be home to Cooper Cole Gallery, but now houses plants, wood and kitschy knick knacks. Two added skylights bring a natural glow to the front forty-seat dining area complete with a beautiful swooping wood bar and other woodwork. A second bar and private dining space with an open kitchen takes up the rear. Food is served from noon to 4:30 and 6 to midnight, with light snacks like olives in between and late at night. Sam James coffee is also available during the day.

Drinks & Nightlife

From BlogTO: Reposado on Ossington has just what you'd expect - tequila. But this isn't your run-of-the-mill Mexican themed bar. You won't find any tacky sombreros or other Mexican paraphernalia on the walls. Instead, Reposado features fresh squeezed margaritas, five imported beers on tap and live music three nights a week. Live musicians and DJs settle in next to the front window overlooking Ossington. Thursdays and Fridays showcase live jazz and swing from about 9:45 to 1am. There is also live music Wednesdays and DJs most other nights.

Be prepared for a LONG wait in the summer for their patio, but they have a bottle shop attached if you want to take one of your brews home with you.

Sightseeing

So, let's be honest. You're not coming here for the food. It is a beachside cafe, with volleyball courts, SUPing, and beautiful sunset views. During the summer this is a great place to come for fireworks shows as well, with a stunning outdoor public pool that stays open til midnight summer nights

Parks & Nature

You're not a true West End Torontonian until you spend a Sunday afternoon in Bellwoods. Grab some friends and a blanket and spend the afternoon here, with a couple hundred soon to be friends. The Dog Bowl, an off leash park within the park, always provides entertainment, and there is a great kids playground and splashpad on the edge of the park. Baseball fields and Tennis courts are also available for free.

Shopping

BlogTO: Penny Arcade is, hands down, my favourite vintage store in Toronto. Nestled in among dingy-looking storefronts on Dundas West just west of Ossington , the long space feels welcoming the second you walk in, with purses and gloves and ceramic knick-knacks crowding the high shelves, end-tables covered in glasses, and a comfy couch where you can peruse a book about sharks while noshing on jellybeans.
