I live a 20 minute walk to Puget Sound Marina where you can relax and see the sunset. There is a very nice place to sit there too and enjoy a drink. Downtown Des Moines has several nice very casual restaurants; choose Italian, Sushi, Seafood or a great diner. If you want something a little fancy there is a nice restaurant on the water as well. The Safeway grocery or drugstore are a 15 minute drive from my house.
