OMG... we stop here every time we come up to Beech Mountain. In fact we time our flights just so we can eat here! Best home cooking ever! Get a pie to go! The meals are inexpensive. My favorite is the flounder while my sister loves the stew. Try the fried green tomatoes!

Fresh green beans and carrot ribbons were very flavorful. Simple wine menu but with good wines! Friendly staff.

Elk River & Elk River Falls is just a quick 20 minute drive from Beech Mountain. Parking is limited. If you don’t want to hike the steep ( but has steps) 300
yard hike to the actually see the falls, you can just walk over to the spectacular river and take in one of the most beautiful sights. On a warm day you can sit on flat rocks and dip your toes in the cooling water. On a chilly day you can sit on the rocks and bask in the sunshine while being immersed in soothing sights and sounds.
Elk River
Elk River & Elk River Falls is just a quick 20 minute drive from Beech Mountain. Parking is limited. If you don’t want to hike the steep ( but has steps) 300
yard hike to the actually see the falls, you can just walk over to the spectacular river and take in one of the most beautiful sights.
