Food/Coffee:
“Pretty tasty” food according to our son. We stopped in here b/c we happened upon it. Great breakfast sandwiches!
Good coffee too, and they use coffee ice cubes in their cold drinks.
Service:
The guy who cooked the sandwiches, the owner of the shop, brought them out to us! And the girl at the counter was very friendly, too.
Look:
Cool look - some old guitars and musical instruments hanging from the walls with some rock art. Tastefully done though. I know that might be hard to believe.
T says the animal skull and the cakes they had on display were great too.
Fun factor:
Not much to say there. But we were so impressed with everything else that we were having fun.

As mentioned above, this is a great spot to people watch. If you’re looking for some entertainment while waiting in line to place your order, enjoy the extreme skiing/biking videos they play continuously on the TV over the counter.

Stop in at the 5 & 10 if you have kids who love candy! Right at the entryway they have a great selection of candy for under a dollar. Our kids love this place!
There's a lot more deeper into the store, too: NH mementos, books, toys, etc. It's a nice place to wonder into and poke around.
We have always enjoyed visiting The Penguin Gallery. They have everything here: great gifts, kitchen gadgets, jewelry, toys, novelty cards. There's always something fun to look at, play with, and buy at this place. Go check it out.

Places to Swim/Cool Off

This is less about swimming and more about river walking. There are about four tiers of waterfalls you can climb up through. Each one is unique and offers a new opportunity to get wet. A lot of fun, but it requires some climbing, slippery rocks, and good balance. I’ve seen younger kids there, but am hesitant to bring my own three year old.
Location:
Beautiful location that requires about a half mile flat walk over a well kept gravel path.
This spot is about ten minutes from River’s Edge on the other side of North Conway.
Services:
Limited parking. The place is so popular that it can be difficult to find a parking spot.
There are a men’s and women’s toilet, but they are campground style tanks, not flush toilets.
Plan on walking back wet, and either driving back wet or changing quickly in the parking lot. The busy bathroom is always an option too.

We have taken the Santa trip on the Conway Scenic Rail for the last three or four years. If you are in the area during the holiday season, it is a great family attraction.

We went on the cog for our first trip in the late fall of 2019. It was a great time! Our kids, who are train fanatics, loved it. The ground was clear and free of snow in Conway, and by the time we made the appx. hour trek to the Cog we were in about six inches of snow!
They only take you about 1/2 up the mountain in the late season, but the views are still amazing. 15 minutes up gets you to their stopping point where you can hang out around a fire and have some hot cocoa and donuts before coming back down. Dress warm and wear boots!
If you are visiting in late spring, summer and early fall they still make trips to the Mt. Washington summit. We suggest you call to confirm what kinds of trips they are making, and you can book tickets ahead of time too.

We have rented snowmobiles from Northeast Snowmobiles in Fryeburg, ME just a few minutes up the road from the house.
What a great time! They have miles of trails that you can enter right from their shop. They have started offering guided tours. If you're reasonably comfortable on a snowmobile or ATV you can go out on your own and explore.
