Pizza!
There are so many different types of pizza in NYC - here's my own little list of must-try spots around the city!
The best piece of pizza you can get in NYC, period. Get the square pepperoni slice. Please note Prince St Pizza is NOT “New York Style” pizza, but it is in my opinion the best pizza in New York. There may be a line (on a weekend almost guaranteed) but this is one of the only food spots I would say is actually worth waiting in line for.

The original “New York Style” slice. It’s a very good, accurate portrayal of New York style pizza. Get the “regular slice,” also called “plain.” Local tip - in NYC, we don’t call regular slices “cheese pizza.”

Scarr’s is the “coolest” pizza place downtown. It serves high-quality New York & Sicilian slices, and they have a bar in the back if you wanna hang out for drinks. It’s got a hip downtown crowd, but can also attract lines on weekends. If you’re checking out the LES gallery scene on Orchard & Ludlow, stop in at Scarr’s — you won’t be disappointed!

A popular tourist destination — the original owner of Grimaldi’s was bought out when his company went national, and he opened right next door to the original Grimaldi’s (which also attracts long lines as a tourist destination). Juliana’s is the real deal — but I don’t think necessarily worth the wait. If you find yourself in DUMBO on a weekday and are able to snag a table with minimal fuss, I would recommend it. Otherwise it’s often too much a bother.

The local favorite in Bedstuy! Very high quality, sit-down Neapolitan pizza. Often a long wait for dinner, but close enough to be a walkable destination Pizza spot you can reach on foot from our apartment. The food rules - it's high quality dining right in our neighborhood - a wonderful choice for a local date night!

I have only been to the Speedy Romeo in Lower East Side, but this is the original location and from everything I hear it's amazing. The stuffed peppers appetizer is INSANE.
