Ototo has a great menu and a very good happy hour. You can find our local Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin for $5 during happy hour - I recommend the garlic edamame, the kamakazi fries and all of their rolls.

Caroline's has one of the best patios for enjoying the surf along with amazing breakfast and lunch entrees. There is inside seating if it's cold outside but I'd suggest bundling up and enjoying the salty air. Don't let the line stop you from going - it moves rather fast.

They have a wide variety of items on the menu including a grilled romaine salad, fritto misto, and usually very good specials. Great cocktails and wine selection. If you can, sit on the patio and enjoy the beauty of their incredible ficus tree. I'd take a walk after dinner at La Jolla Shores, it's right down the street.

Torrey Pines is a great place to go for a hike and look out at the Pacific Ocean. If you take the right trail you can walk down to the beach and make your way back up on an asphalt path.

La Jolla Cove is a wonderful place to go for an early morning or late afternoon walk. It gets rather crowded during the day, especially in the summer. From the cove you can walk over to the Children's Pool to see where the California Sea Lions have made their home. You can swim and snorkel at the LJ Cove but it's not advisable at the Children's Pool because of all the seals. Once your done with your walk, you can wander up to Prospect Street to "shop" in La Jolla or enjoy a drink / food at Duke's.

Coronado is beautiful. Amazing homes, long beaches and the famous Hotel Del Coronado can be found here. You can either drive over the Coronado Bridge or take a ferry from downtown. Either way you won't be disappointed. There are lots of good eateries and of course, Coronado Brewing Company.

So we are just 2 miles away from Mission Bay. Mission Bay offers large sidewalks for walking, running and even rollerblading. There a parks every 1/2 mile along with bathrooms. Early morning is less crowded.

Potato Chip Rock is a great hike. I like to start at Poway Lake and work my way up and back. You'll never be sorry to have taken one of the famous jumping photos from the rock!
