Sightseeing
Birchville dam is a short Bush walk that takes you to the old water reservoir called Birchville dam. It's about a 20 minute bush walk from the carpark at the end of bridge road. Mostly flat to undulating with a swing bridge at the start. The dam is set in the bush and is in my cover photo.

Tunnel Gully has some great walking tracks through native bush. It's a 5 minute drive on the outskirts of Upper Hutt and a great place to relax.

The Hutt river is 2 minutes from your stay with us and is a great fishing and swimming river. There is also the river trail for walking or mountain biking. It's a lovely spot to visit.

This walkway is 2 minutes walk from our place and you access it from Tulsa park in Totara park. It's steep in places and takes about 40 minutes to the top. From there you have great views across Upper Hutt and through to Wellington harbor.

Go cake yourself do great coffees and breakfasts. They have something for everyone and its straight across the road from the Upper Hutt train station. Worth a visit for a great breakfast.
