Restaurants you can bring your pets to without leaving them leashed up outside.
Their Mai-Thais are dangerous, and I have loved all of the food I’ve eaten there. I highly recommend the skirt steak, and their fried chicken appetizer. if you're there early enough for breakfast/brunch, order the french toast with the fruit compote. Makes a great brunch appetizer for 2 or more, or you can eat that for breakfast. A dog friendly bar and restaurant. There are 2 areas for dogs, outside on the deck overlooking the ocean, and on the patio where there is a traditional bar and enclosed seating area. A great place to toast a sunset from.

Leash Free OB
Places your pet can run free and play with other dogs without a leash.
If you come to OB and don't take your dogs to Dog Beach they will eat your shoes every time you leave your house for the rest of their lives. It's just a fact. And they are justified.
Dog beach is a short block away from the condo. Walk your dog to dog beach via the grass field. They are not allowed on the main beach in front of the condo, and you can play dumb if you’re caught on the beach with your dog on a leash. The lifeguards will usually let you get to dog beach if it is obvious you’re on your way there.
You can let your dogs off leash on top of the Dog Paw on the cement walkway between the parking lot and the beach. They can run all the way North, West, and East. It’s about a mile long up the San Diego river, and it’s all dogs off leash.
Warning
A small number of large dog owners are irresponsible and have not socialized their pets, so pay attention to the safety of your pet. I have personally witnessed large dog fatal attacks on small dogs, and have had to save my dog on more than one occasion from an attack by a large dog. Playing is one thing, attack is another. Just remain vigilant.

Dogs are not allowed in every location in OB.
While most places OB are dog friendly, many cannot be due to the health department restrictions. If a restaurant has an outdoor deck, you can usually have your dog there. Your pet will need to be on a leash in all of OB except for Dog Beach.
