Pay attention to the forecast
The weather often changes very quickly and the area will flood in bad storms. Pay attention to high and low tides. Be aware of post rip tides, especially if you note and debris moving quickly out to see. In case of rip current stay out of the water. If you are caught in a rip current swim parallel to shore until you get out of the rip current. Life jackets are strongly advised.
