Excellent standard grocery store. Fun, small, good prices. They have their own organics line, which is very reasonable. This is the closest "regular" grocery story to the house. They also have a good variety of beer.

Very close to our house, this is a cool Rail Trail walk, leading to a view of the Ashokan Reservoir, which provides much of the supply for NYC. This would be great with small kids or for a flat, easy, but very scenic walk.

To head up to the highest peak in the area, Overlook, go here. The trail is steep, but not a scramble. At the top is an old hotel, firetower, and panoramic views.

There are trails throughout the property, and to the left, you can explore the Sawkill stream. At the back of the property is a working apiary. Pro tip: this is where we go at night to star gaze, for open sky without trees.
