OBX Notables!
Traffic can get heavy during the high season: Memorial Day to Labor Day. Pay attention to speed limits, watch for pedestrians and bicyclists as not all our communities have sidewalks for them; and please do not run stoplights!!! If you drive on Beach Road please yield to beachgoers crossing at crosswalks. Stop, wait for them to get to the other side then resume.

Tip for kids and pets
Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and flip flops are a must when out n about. Don’t forget that our sand and pavement gets very hot in the summer and little ones and pets should always have shoes/paw covering to avoid injury.

When at the beach: Do NOT dig holes please..especially deep ones! These are hazards that cause injuries and even result in death every year on our beaches!! If you do, PLEASE fill them in AND tamp the sand down before you leave. Thank you!

Rainy Day Suggestions…
Aquarium in Manteo is great, bowling in Nags Head, axe throwing in Manteo, our movie theatre in Kill Devil Hills now has cushy reclining chairs…Christmas shop in Manteo is a favorite.
A drive on 12 South toward Hatteras has its share of galleries, restaurants, shops, the Frisco Native American museum, the Graveyard of the Atlantic museum in Hatteras. All of this can be accomplished in a day trip.
If inclined we have distilleries, breweries and a winery.
