Between the Cherokee district and Soulard is Benton Park. Benton Park offers THE BEST pretzels in St. Louis. It’s is also home to the huge, multi block world headquarters of Anheuser Busch brewery. There are several small restaurants and one of the few places in the world it’s legal to park on an overpass to grab a bite to eat. (Don’t park just anywhere, you’ll know the spot when you see it ;) )

Food scene

Tower Grove Park Seasonal Food Scene
Tower Grove park is within walking distance of the property. On most days the streets in the park are open for driving through and parking. There are beautiful, mature trees and even clydesdales on the grounds. There are many different planned events during the spring and summer including brunches at the palm house (which has beautiful palm trees in the middle of St. Louis!) and food truck nights! Or just grab a chair or a blanket and enjoy!

Sightseeing

We are less than 5 minutes from Forest Park (home of The Zoo.) It’s ranked one of the top zoos in the country AND ITS FREE! There is free street parking and also paid parking lots nearby. For more sightseeing recommendations I have a thorough guidebook in the rental with a long list of attractions with their numbers and websites.

This train station is as grand and historic as Grand Central. After closing as a working train station, it was a mall and is now home to hotel and meeting space, the St. Louis aquarium and restaurants.

This park right in the middle of downtown features the best views of the arch, the old courthouse and all of the other historic sites. This is a popular gathering place before many St. Louis games and after a big win. If you park around here, you can walk around and site see.

Some of Adam and Melanie’s Favorites

Here are just a few of one or both of our favorite places
We know the owner, Rachel. The atmosphere inside is romantic. You can see the cooks prepare your meal in the open kitchen and gawk at the enormous wine wall! You can also sit outside for a more relaxed environment. She has our favorite moscato imported from Italy.

You’ve heard of “Panera,” well erase it from your memory while you’re here. In St. Louis, the famous bread shop is called St. Louis Bread Company or just “Bread Co.” Order all your (Panera🙄) favorites!…and ask for a bagel “bread sliced.” You can actually see the world headquarters off of Watson Road.

One of the few drive-ins left in the country! If you went to the drive-in as a kid, the nostalgia will hit you!

This is one of our favorite places to eat. It’s about 5 minutes from our building. Full disclosure- it’s always hopping…always! The scene is out on the double decker patio. If you want to eat outside, expect a 20-30 minute wait. Also, there are absolutely no substitutions to the menu! I’ve tried several times :/

Taste American food the St. Louis way! Taste St. Louis favorites like StL style pizza, toasted ravioli, or be really daring and eat shark! The patio is nice but if it’s chilly or rainy, it’ll be closed.

Call ahead

St. Louis is in a weird space with COVID right now. Most attractions that normally wouldn’t require a reservation currently do. But don’t worry. I have a thorough guidebook in the rental with a long list of attractions with their numbers and websites.

Don’t forget masks

Missouri is in a weird place as far as mask requirements many places in St. Louis have their own mask requirements. Bring several so that you can change them. Carry them with you so that you are prepared.
