Drink Provider (Island Park)
There are not many locations dedicated strictly to providing drinks like sodas, smoothies, coffee, etc. This one is owned by an Island Park family so we like to give them a shout out.
If you want a flavored soda, smoothie, coffee, or huckleberry frosted sugar cookie, this is the place. It is conveniently located on the junction of Highway 20 and Yale-Kilgore Road. You can even drive your UTV/ATV through the drive-in when you are dusty and thirsty from a long ride.

This section has most of the dining locations and food experiences you'll find in (and around) Island Park. Keep in mind our little area gets crowded so early dining and making reservations in advance are recommended. Some locations will not take orders to go if they are busy in their restaurants.

If you are up for a drive, the 45 or so minutes past Quake Lake to Campfire Lodge is well worth it. Amazing breakfast and lunches. Huge pancakes, big burgers, all served in a quaint restaurant on the banks of the Madison River. Take cash as they do not accept credit cards, but do have an ATM onsite.

Wild West Pizza is the best pizza and macaroni and cheese around. Only 30 minutes away in West Yellowstone. You can order online and pick it up on your way by after a day in the park and bring it home with you.

Because you have kids and grandkids who like their McDonald's fix, the McDonald's in West Yellowstone is the closest one. Be advised, it is probably the most expensive McDonald's you will ever go to. The prices are literally double than what you are probably use to.

Closet Grocery Store
Robin's Roost is the closest grocery store (about 15 minutes away toward West Yellowstone). It does not have the best selection of specialty items, but those things you might need in a pinch for a favorite recipe. If it is something out of the ordinary, like fresh herbs or specialty cheeses, you might want to call them first before making the trip.

Harriman State Park has information centers, hiking, and world class fishing. Donated to Idaho by railroad magnate Averell Harriman, it is fun place to explore.

Virginia City is about 30 minutes past Ennis, Montana, and about 1.5 hours from here. Virginia City is an old mining town and they have kept most of the buildings. It's fun to browse the shops and a definite stop is the Old Time Candy Shop where you can find all your old favorites.

Quake Lake Visitor's Center is a must see. Due to an earthquake in 1959 half of the mountain in the background slid to create the lake above. This is a great stop either on the way to Campfire Lodge to eat or on the way back to walk off one of those huge pancakes.

West Yellowstone, Montana (30-minutes)
In Idaho, driving distance is measured by hours in the car to get there. So, West Yellowstone, Montana, is 30-minutes away. Besides being the busiest entrance to Yellowstone National Park it does have some amenities worth mentioning as you will most likely be traveling through it several times during your stay.
Ennis, Montana, is about an hour away by car and it is a beautiful drive. Ennis is an old west town. Eat dinner at the Alley Bistro, lunch at Nacho Mamma's, and enjoy Willie's Distillery.

Jackson Hole is only two-hours away by car over the pass by Victor/Driggs, Idaho. If you are thinking of something fun to do for a day, this is a good option. It is a fun resort town with a lot of shopping, sight-seeing the Tetons and Teton National Park are beautiful, and the food plentiful and varied. If the gondola is running, it is great to take a ride up to the top and have a meal overlooking Jackson Hole.

If the gondola is running, it is great to take a ride up to the top and have a meal overlooking Jackson Hole.
This is the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, the busiest entrance to the park. There are some touristy things you might like to do and some restaurants that may help you with everything from ordering to take it home, souvenir shopping, old time photographs, or the closest movie theater around.
