Sauk Rapids was the largest town in the area until a Tornado nearly wiped it off the map. Little St. Cloud grew to be the Big City, and Sauk Rapids had to settle for being a nice bedroom community along the Rapids near the Sauk River.
Located in an old Bank Building, the Old Capital Bar/Grille has a large beer selection and good food too.
COBORNS grocery chain began in Sauk Rapids. Now they even have COBORN stores in the Big City.
The train runs right thru town, dividing the downtown area from a nice park along the river.
