Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée is a very charming, small mountain town and has a lot to offer. In winter, it has a ski lift that directly connects you with the ski slopes of Auron. In summer, the same ski lift takes you up to the top of the mountains for hiking. There is a artificial lake in Auron where you can go for swimming in summer, they rent out Stand up paddle boards and Kayaks and it is right next to a children adventure park (small entrance fee). In the town there is a bakery, a small supermarket, a butcher (only open at certain periods), a weekly producer market on Fridays, a beautiful church/cathedral, an ice cream shop, a tourism office etc. Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée offers plenty of activities throughout the whole year, for young and old.

The best restaurant (for us) in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée. We go at least once during any of our stays. They have great Pizza, but also typical mountain specialities, Pasta, Salads, Meat etc.

A really nice restaurant where we have had many good meals, good value for money with a wide variety of food.

Activities
We love to take all our friends and visitors to the Bergerie de la Belloire. Kids are super happy to see the animals (goats, lambs). And then the adults can go food shopping and buy some delicious goat cheese or charcuterie to enjoy later that day with a glass of wine.

Our friends Manon and Florent own this shop and can help you with bike rental in summer (e-bikes, mountain bikes, DH bikes) and ski or snowshoe rental in winter. Obviously they have many recommendations about where to go and what to see. Their shop is absolutely beautiful and worth a stop for some shopping too!

Within 10min by car, you get from Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée up to the ski resort Auron. There is a regular bus connection as well for those travelling without car. The resort is a must visit during your stay, in winter or in summer, as a depart for hikes, mountain biking, or just to stroll around for some shopping, or eating out in one of the many restaurants.

At the heart of the leisure center of the St Etienne de Tinée lake, the Petit Bois des Lutins welcomes you to its play area for children from 2 to 102 years old!
You can climb the highest branches of century-old trees to cross huts, slides, terraces in search of the little people of the woods.

– “Sea of net” play area
– 2 zip lines
– “Gnome cylinders” play area
