Great variety of food on their menu, and one of Alaska's best decks. If you are going to visit on a sunny day in the summer, be prepared to wait on a table for a while, but it's worth it!

The Lakefront hotel has one of Anchorage's nicest decks and a front row seat at Lake Hood, the world's busiest seaplane base. It's a great place to take kids to watch the airplanes take off and land and find a great meal.

About 2 hours north of Anchorage, it's a perfect day trip and on a clear day affords some of the best views of Denali you can find anywhere along the highway system

Respect the wildlife
Anchorage has a ton of green space, and we share it with lots of different animals including moose, bears, lynx, porcupines, wolverines, coyotes, river otters, and beavers. All of these animals are fun to watch from a distance but can be dangerous to you, your kids, and your pets. Please make sure you give them their space and take pictures from a safe area.
