Nice pub type feel to this restaurant. Nice garden with deck chairs and boules. Day time or evening very nice. Situated along the pleasant walk along ringdijk canal which leads to Oostport area which is nice for shops and cafes also.

Nice pub in ouderkerk- recommend the very picture-esque 30 minute bike ride along the river to here, or take a boat. Nice food sat outside overlooking the pretty bridge.
If you cycle on this side of the river look out for a simple kids playground on your left around half way, just by the (tiny) ferry crossing if you need a stop off.

Nice park, 2 good child playpark options plus a kinderbad as you will find in many Amsterdam parks where you have a large paddling pool that is filled when the temperature is over 20c. Also a hotel resturant over looking park plus The Tropen museum cafe.

It recently opened it's museum. Also Micropia is joined to the zoo and very interesting for slightly older children.
Tip - there are 'summer nights' held at the zoo in early evening so look out on website for info on those, very chilled music, pizza, beers .

Forest
The Bos (large man made forest) has lots to offer: goat farm, pancake house, resturant, outdoor casual cafe near entrance (bike hire here), outdoor theatre, lake to hire boats/swim, kinderbad (shallow paddle pool). But a recent thing my kids are finally old enough for and loved is the fun forest climbing experience.
I believe you can ride an old fashioned tram to The Bos from central points in Amsterdam too.

Canoe and Stand up paddle board very close by. Top tip, if you're new to it don't choose peak time when there are lots of party boats (warm days/weekends/late afternoon/early evening). Also don't let them persuade you to under the low bridge rather than the Amstel as its very low and long to go under and many weeds in the canal the otherside! :)

This a great swimming pool, the feel of a tropical paradise inside with slides, jacuzzi baths etc. Great for kids.
Also an indoor lengths pool for adults plus a very nice lengths pool for adults outside, very pleasant for sunbathing too.
The outdoor pool is also open on warm days for kids and has various pools and snack bar.
