Raggy Charters offers conservation cruises and is highly recommended . It offer a variety of Boat Cruises in Port Elizabeth, which span from the shorter beach front boat cruise, through to the extended island boat cruises that take guests out to see St Croix Island or Bird Island. From June to end December is the whale season and guests can enjoy close up encounters with these magnificant Ocean creatures. Port elizabeth is also home to the largest population on bottle nose dolphins in the world.
While on these sea cruises guests are often spoilt for choice with close encounters with large pods of Dolphin, the African Penguin, Cape Fur Seal and a variety of Whale Species, including the Souther Right Whale and Humpback Whale.

The Donkin Reserve, located off Belmont Terrace, Central, and overlooking the city, was proclaimed an open space in perpetuity by Sir Rufane Donkin.
The Donkin Reserve, Pyramid and Lighthouse includes a Stone Pyramid Monument with a touching inscription erected by Sir Rufane Donkin in memory of his late wife, Elizabeth, after whom the city was namknown ed, as well as palm-lined walkways and benches.
The Pyramid is approximately 10 meters high and the sides at the base measure about 8 meters each.
The Lighthouse, which was built in 1861, also houses Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, the official Tourist Information Centre. The Lighthouse is open to the public on request between 08h00 & 16h30 weekdays and Saturdays 09H30-15H30. Please report to the Tourism Office for access.

The Sacramento is a popular 8 km round trip coastal walk through the Schoenmakerskop-Sardinia Bay Nature Reserve that starts in the coastal village of Schoenmakerskop.
The area offers attractive seascapes, landscapes and, depending on the season, some remarkable displays of dune vegetation and wild flowers. At Schoenmakerskop, a bronze cannon points towards the wreck site of the Portuguese galleon, Sacramento, which foundered on 30 June 1647.
The route continues past the Sacramento monument towards the far end of the sandy bay, aptly named Cannon Bay where the ruins of a mill, which used to crush seashells are located, and then on to the Sacramento Tea Room.

Mountain bikers are welcome to explore the plateau section of the reserve. There are a number of flat gravel roads, which are ideal for exploration on a mountain bike. The area provides ideal riding terrain for the novice mountain biker or the family on a cycling outing, during which time indigenous flora can be appreciated. The Eastern Cape is blessed with natural and cultural diversity. It’s especially renowned for the evergreen vegetation of the Tsitsikamma Forest at the end of the Garden Route.
It is also home to the Baviaanskloof Wilderness, the slopes of the Drakensberg Mountains and part of the Great Karoo.
Another Eastern Cape point of interest is its awe-inspiring coastline, making it the ideal place for water sport enthusiasts and beach bodies alike.

Climate
The Eastern Cape climate boasts a blend of Mediterranean and sub-tropical weather.
The east experiences higher levels of humidity and rainfall compared to the west with its dry weather conditions. During off-season (winter), temperatures range from 7°C to 22°C and during summer season, you can enjoy temperatures between 16°C and 36°C.

Port elizabeth is not a big city and although Public transport is not ideal there are plenty of Ubers and taxi's at reasonable prices to cater for your needs

This property is run as a Guest House when not exclusvely booked by a family. Many of my international Guests are dissapointed that they nexer gave more time to this destination. There is quite alot to see and do to keep families busy for 3 days if on a time limited holiday.

We have a large open pool, and therefore do not recomment this property to famlies who have toddlers, as it's the Guest responsibility to ensure that all children are monitored around the pool and behave in a safe and fun manner.
