Cragannowen is a really interesting place with castle, crannogs and the boat which proved St Brendan discovered America. Wild boar and a very scenic landscape to stroll around, finishing up by the real turf fire with tea and scones in the traditional cottage.

Food Scene
If you are passing through Gort from Galway or The Burren, this place is a must see and must taste! Great ambience cool staff and delicious food. Music nights and lots of Art everywhere in everything.

This is one of my favorite spots, the seafood is fresh in off the boats which you can sometimes see tied up at the quay, the view is peaceful, good service and mouthwatering food. Also before or after eating there is an excellent loop walk along the 'Flaggy Shore' beautiful at anytime of year

Historic gardens and remains oh house where, Yeats, Bernard Shaw and theircontempories hung out with Lady Gregory. Nice walk and special tree where their names are engraved. Also a cafe.

Its just perfect for all the family especially on a misty day or rain for a cafe, shop and the cave. Hopefully the rain has ceased when you come out of the cave to allow the woodland walk and viewing the spectacular birds of pray

The Aran Islands are well worth a visit and often the sun shines here before clouds hit the mainland!
Do a day trip to Inisheer the nearest island or step back in time, rent a bike and stay a night or two on Inishmore!

A beautiful place to visit, take a rest while watching a 10 min documentry on The Burren amongst the perfume natural ambience of the Perfumery and shop. Great little garden to discover too!
