Use public transport, it's very cheap 10 mins away from Msida by bus. 3 minutes walk from the apartment going down the road turn on the 2nd street on your left leads you to Msida harbour. There is a bus stop which lots of buses coming from Valletta pass from there to take you to many other localities in Malta including Sliema. On the bus stop you will find a label with the buses numbers and localities. There are lots of branded shops and also souvenier shops
