Parks & Nature
Great cycle/ walking track that follows the old train route. You can leave from Featherston, or Upper Hutt. I like to walk up to the summit, or just to the first of second tunnel and return back down to my car, but you can hire a shuttle to pick you up. to do the whole thing, or the summit and back budget 6-7 hours.

Great walk around the wetlands, where you'll see lots of bird life, and interesting wetland plants. This, or the stopbank walk over the road is a great place to walk at sunset in the summer. (as the name suggests, it gets a big boggy in winter!)
