Restaurant/Bar/Music Venue in a former factory building. A bit off the tourist track, and quite typical Zürich. More a summer option as most of the seats are outside, beside the lake. Interesting graffiti.

Cafe beside the river. More a summer place really - popular place to hang out, have a few drinks and go for a quick swim. You can also watch the amateur welders at the metal workshop next door :-)

They do a good (if expensive) cocktail here, but the main reason to visit is that they have probably the best view of the city. Entrance is via a lift, which you access from inside the Brasserie Lipp.

Oldest bar in the city with plenty of old wood-panely charm. Very unique inside (upstairs is the place to go). If you're up for it, you can try their climbing/drinking challenge :-)

Hike up from Triemli (or take the S10 train) to the hotel Uto Kulm. Once up you have great views of the city and lake. From there you can also hike quite far along the ridge south.
