(5 minutes away) Best Buns (Motto: "Get your buns in here.") will strike your fancy if you love French style baking: chewy crusts with airy, layered innards. The official bakery for all of the Great American Restaurants group, they bake everything in house, 7 days a week, open at 6am weekdays/7am weekends for coffee (Starbucks), made to order breakfast sandwiches (on their fresh baked croissants or icebox bread - yes, I'm about to drool), breads, pastries, cookies, AND Angus beef burgers (noon - 5pm weekdays). You can leisurely consume your breakfast in the attached Carlyle Cafe (restaurant). As with all Great American Restaurants operations, their staff are immaculately trained professionals. A real joy to visit and taste!

I've been eating there for 20 years and can't remember a time I've been disappointed by service or food. Nice alcohol menu as well. They'll try, and usually succeed, at getting you exactly what you want. Everything on the menu is well executed. Great place for long conversations. There is also a small friendly bar inside that that serves the same menu.
