Just getting to Llanthony is an experience in itself. A stunning drive down a single track lane with a little river running alongside it and pretty bridges. You'll need decent reversing skills if you meet someone coming in the opposite direction.

llanthony priory is definitely worth a visit you can also walk from there over the black mountains to us at offers dyke retreat. lots of sight seeing and fresh air.
Llanthony Priory is a splendid ruined monastery in an unrivalled setting in the heart of the Black Mountains. Go there to walk, drink (there is a pub in the ruins), or hang out with a picnic. A truly beautiful place and a real highlight.
