For me, Duncansby Head feels far more like the real 'true north' than does John o' Groats. Look out for puffins in spring and summer.

Magnificent sea cliffs here which are easily accessible from the lighthouse car park. Close up viewing of the many seabirds that nest here. A short walk along the cliff top takes you to the stacks as well.

Nice views of the pentland firth and the Orkney Islands, nice coastal walks to the Stacks of Duncansbay where you can see lots of seabirds, puffins if your lucky, and we sometimes see Orca , and dolphins passing through
