Point of Interest
“The so-called Handkerchief Alley is a gem in the heart of the famous Judería Quarter. Though being located only a few steps from the legendary Mezquita, most visitors do not consider the short walk. But they should. Because this alley is not only one of these narrow, winding streets with corners, bends and tiny squares giving the Judería its unparalleled enchanting appearance. It is rather considered one of Europe’s narrowest streets. Therefore the alley, some 20 meters (about 20 yards) long and officially named as Calleja de Pedro Jiménez, is commonly known as the Handkerchief Alley. This is because the narrowest point of the lane is not wider than a handkerchief spread between two persons.”

“The Caballerizas Reales, or English Royal Stables, are one of the hidden treasures of Cordoba. It is probably one of the most beautiful stables you will ever see. Though this building was of remarkable significance at that time and though it features a wonderful architecture, many guidebooks do not list the Royal Stables. However, you should not miss it. You will be impressed by the long hallway with the horse boxes to the left and to the right. The former Royal Stables are located adjacent to the Alcázar Royal Fortress.”

History Museum
“The Museum of Archaeology (Museo Arqueológico) features treasures from Cordoba’s rich cultural heritage, including prehistoric crafts, Roman statues and mosaics, as well as artifacts of Roman, Iberian, and Visigothic origin. The museum’s upper floor is devoted to Moorish culture and history. One of the most impressive exhibits is a bronze deer statue which was found during the excavation of the former palace city of Medina Azahara. A must-see is the remains of a Roman theater which are integrated in the Renaissance museum building. ”
