Compared to its older sister Emily—the beloved Clinton Hill pizzeria and burger joint—Emmy Squared has similarities but also a major, key difference: Detroit-style pies. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled onto the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored. Like at Emily, there's an attention-grabbing burger, and there's also a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich.

BEST PIZZA! It's Detroit style and I recommend The Colony. They are also known for their burger.

Amazing Detroit style deep dish pizza, and regular menu items. Lovely space on the corner of Grand and Marcy Ave. Great bar to sit at solo. Extremely popular.

Emmy Squared offers square pies with thick crusts that are a hybrid between a Sicilian and a deep-dish pizza.This unique pizza is baked twice and then topped with sauce afterward.

We love the pizza here. Also really good salad/veggie options. The burger is $25 dollars, but it really is good. We suggest sharing with the table because its's kind of heavy.
