Taft Bay is an old, famous area in Lincoln City. You'll drive down Hwy 101, and then turn right towards the ocean, passing under a Crab sign! Moe's is down the street. Mmm Mmmm good clam chowder, and a great walk along the beach. Fisher folks abound in this area!

Taft Historic District is a great area to explore. Grab a locally roasted coffee at Pacific Grind & head out to the beach to collect agates & drift wood. You may even be inspired to build a beach fort or have a campfire. This is a popular spot for outdoor activities like clamming, crabbing & fishing. My personal favorite is watching the pod of harbor seals play, sun and swim in the bay. They are liveliest in the morning as they hunt and steal the fisherman's bait :) Afterwards treat yourself to a cup of chowder at Mo's.

SW 51st St. Parking, fishing and crabbing dock, easy beach and bay access. Can view sea lions and harbor seals!

On summer days that are windy, head to Taft. This beach wraps around to the south along Siletz Bay and is sheltered from north winds! There you'll see people crabbing, making driftwood forts, kids swimming, harbor seals, and more. It's a wonderful place to spend half a day and if the wind dies down you can walk around to the ocean side.
