Impressive. Unless you’re hard core fan of old classical paintings, portraits, and rather want to see abstract art with strong 70’s wibes this museum is for you. Museum is not that big but contains huge works by Vasarely and also story of his professional life. If you’re not familiar with Vasarely’s work, and if you find it even slightest interesting, Fondation Vasarely is a must

An architectural masterpiece itself, the foundation houses most of the artist's monumental works. A very interesting museum for design enthusiasts.

The impressive collection of modern and optical art sits in an unusual, though exceptional, gallery. The pieces come in many forms of media, ranging from tapestries to 3D images. The museum is rarely crowded, so there’s a good chance that you can get a personal tour of the premises from a foundation member. Though it’s in Aix, it’s a little out of the way from the city center, so be sure to plan other fun activities in the area as well.
