Dean Castle Country Park is a fantastic free day out for all the family. The country park, covering over 200 acres, is nestled in the heart of Kilmarnock and offers something for the whole family to enjoy. You can explore the park using scenic paths and trails - each season brings with it ever changing plants and wildlife to see along the way. Visit the Urban Farm Paddocks, and meet Eriskay ponies and Hebridean sheep. Spot dragonflies in the lagoons and herons on the pond.

200 acres to walk round, an urban farm park, children's mazes, playground and the historic castle has exhibitions of historic weapons and armour. Refreshments are available and there's a gift shop.

History on the doorstep! Lovely woodland walks, urban farm w/ pigs, sheep, goats etc & restored 14/15th century castle (closed for renovations until sometime mid-late 2021, check East Ayrshire Leisure website for up to date information). All free. Used as a location for Outlander S2:08. PS - it's not the riding centre - it's the 'Country Park'
