Sunken Gardens is the only Nebraska garden listed in the “300 Best Gardens to Visit in the United States and Canada” by National Geographic Guide to Public Gardens. The 1.5-acre lot was developed in 1930 and remains a treasured retreat for Lincoln locals and visitors.

Built in 1930, the Sunken Gardens was a Depression-era project, built on a former abandoned neighborhood dumpsite. Now its a must visit during the spring-fall time! And aren't you lucky, this is located only a half a mile north of The Teal Oasis on 27th and Normal blvd!

Visit this jewel of Lincoln during the spring and summer months. A favorite space to gain peace and quiet while enjoying the beauty of this well tended garden.

The Sunken Gardens are breathtaking. It's a little slice of garden heaven right in the middle of Lincoln. It's a wonderful way to spend an evening out with the family or a date...and it's free!
