The Sainte-Marthe district is one of the oldest working-class cities in Paris. In 2013, it was able to make new skin thanks to public funds, allowing the small owners to continue their activity. Located in the lower part of Belleville, next to the Saint-Louis hospital and at the end of the long Saint-Maur street, it remains confidential and it is all the better: it keeps its quiet side and its village appearance . Especially when you arrive on this small cobbled square, shaded by trees and frequented by locals. It is reached through one of the narrow streets which encircle it, where each front is tinted with a different color. This is the charm and character of this unique neighborhood.

In the heart of the picturesque district Sainte-Marthe in the 10th arrondissement, is a charming and unusual place, which has a pleasant atmosphere of calm. Once home to many foremen and construction workers, it is an area with village-like, cosmopolitan and multicultural today, whose activities are rather commercial and craft. Sainte-Marthe is a neighborhood people without a lot of people passing and animating rather evening, a place in the popular fiber which has remained authentic and full of character, in Paris yet becoming increasingly sanitized. This is where lies the small garden square and St. Martha, practically invisible in the middle of a network of narrow streets. Among them stands out the peculiar rue Sainte-Marthe, who with his machine to windows and its small side méridionnal recalls the streets of Naples or Marseille. Steeped in art and culture, not just photogenic, this place is an authentic life with terraces of cafés, artists' workshops, concerts, designer boutiques, record stores and flea markets. Also included is the original restaurants offering culinary delights from around the world (Africa, South America).
