Historic Fort. Great spot for children to climb on large rocks while parents enjoy the ocean views. Stop by at Pepperrell Cove after for some ice cream!

A 19th century fort with hiking trails and picnicking areas overlooking Pepperrell Cove. A modest donation is on the honor system. Spend the afternoon at the fort then head over to Frisbee's Wharf for drinks and al fresco dinner.

“A short walk from our rental, this is a classic Mexican restaurant. Need nachos or tacos or a burrito? This is a local hot spot. We usually grab and go, but there is plenty of space to dine on site. ”

“Kittery Point kitteryme.gov/fort-foster-park 4.7 mi (12 mins) A historic fort (active 1901-1946) on the southwest tip of Gerrish Island in Kittery Point. The 88-acre park includes swimming beaches and trails, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Without a boat you can’t get any closer to the Wood Island Life Saving station and Whaleback Light than you can see from the pier at Fort Foster. On a clear day you can almost touch the Isles of Shoals.”
