Pristine water and amazing scenery. Rolling sand dunes and bush all the way to the water. Good fishing spots further up the beach (around Samuri beach) and just as many surfing spots (you’ll often find either space to yourself). Only the right hand corner is patrolled, so stay close if you’re with the family or not 100% surf-confident. There’s a cafe/restaurant at the entrance, which is just next to the car park (it’s organized chaos in there - try and get a spot under a tree if it’s a hot day). You can hire surf equipment from the same building as the cafe.

Beautiful sandy beach approximately 30 minutes drive from Medowie. Relax and take a swim at this patrolled beach.

A patrolled beach where you can learn to surf with Port Stephens Surf School. Once on the beach, you are sitting amongst the sand dunes and feel one with nature.

Just ten kilometres from the Port Stephens town centre, One Mile is a popular destination in the warmer months for beachgoers, particularly those staying at nearby holiday parks. But even when the weather is less than favourable for swimming, surfing and sunbathing, the beach is worth a look in for an easy stroll along the sand. Start at the southern end and walk towards Samurai Point — and be sure to keep an eye out for sea life as you walk. Only 30min drive from Urban Connection Cottage.
