If you're up for a drive, or perhaps a beach without people, there's lots of sand and sea down the Island. Also a better place to find beach treasures!

Take in the natural beauty of the coast line along with stunning bird watching as well as a visit to the Historic Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton.

Great beaches with trails, lighthouse and museums. A great scenic drive. If you really want to make a day out of it, get up early and drive down to take the passenger or vehicle ferry to Ocracoke for the day!
