El más antiguo bar de Valparaíso es también el que mejor concentra la caótica diversidad del puerto en sus distintas épocas y clases sociales. Ancianos solitarios y viajeros entusiastas se juntan para mantener vivo un lugar mítico de la ciudad. Recomendado especialmente ir los jueves a las noches de cueca chora (música folclórica de la ciudad en vivo y con baile). Pequeña precaución: no es una zona peligrosa particularmente, pero tampoco es la más segura. The oldest bar of Valparaíso is also the one who shows better the diversity of the port city in different ages, with different social classes. From lonely old people to energetic tourists, a very special group get connected to keep alive one of the most mythical places of the old bohemian city. Thursday's cueca chora (folk local music played live and danced) nights is my special recommendation. Watch out: is not a very dangerous zone, but is not super safe tough.

They say this place is the oldest bar in the port of Valparaiso, and where the sailers used to (or still do?) hang their hats. It's certainly a cultural experience to come here - it's one of the most traditional bars in the city and you might hear some cueca music. They say it's in the dangerous part of town so if its after dark, a taxi might be your best bet.

Conocido como el bar más antiguo de Valparaíso, creado como un tugurio bohemio que acogía marineros, viajeros y artistas. Hoy el lugar, mantiene esa identidad, siendo parada de poetas y artistas con guitarra, que se dan cita para tertulias poético-musicales.
