Ceres Bakery is where the locals go. They make delicious baked treats and have different lunch specials every day. I used to live next door and went at least a few times a week. It is a no frills casual place for a good sandwich, soup or hot delicious lunch. If they have cornbread on the menu, don't pass up a chance to get it. It's incredible.

Ceres Bakery has been baking for Portsmouth since 1980. The food is always made from scratch. The delicious lunches are generous, reasonably-priced, and change daily.

Hands down a long-time, local favorite. Great breads and baked goods. Good spot for a casual lunch. Act like a local and eat in one of the chairs on the sidewalk; watch Portsmouth summer life go by.
