Some have been known to bring their guitars. We live on an island. Being on the waterfront opens your horizons. If the Malecón is wet, quickly move to the side; when the tide rolls in, it comes in fast.

There is no other place which shows more of the Havana's soul, or attracts more locals and tourists than the long stretched Malecon. The Malecón is an unquestionable symbol of the city. As well as a place for people to sit and dream, it has been an inspiration to musicians, painters, photographers, and poets.

A nighttime stroll down the "Malecon", a sea side boardwalk, is a must. There are no beaches in Havana, but we can arrange a day trip to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The malecón stretches over 8km from the Western end of Vedado to the corner of Prado, in Old Havana - no need to go to the specific spot pointed on the map! It's the seafront avenue on which Cubans go to sit, hang out, fish, practice their musical instrument, gather, celebrate, think... The view of Havana from the corner of Prado & Malecón is beautiful, and so are the sunsets. Friday and Saturday nights it's full of people! Especially along Old Havana and near the corner of 23rd street in Vedado.
