Great for a special occasion but book early if you want to grab a table on a weekend! Good for watching the world go by in the daytime. Great food and drink. It’s won multiple awards and features in various good eating guides, including the Michelin Guide.

Located in the old Engine House on the edge of York's Museum Gardens, close to the historic Lendal Bridge and Tower, The Star Inn The City has an enviable riverside position. The Brasserie-style restaurant opened in 2013, after Andrew Pern of the Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome joined the building owners in their quest to establish a food-led celebration destination in one of York's unique locations. Top Tip: Book in advance. Best for: Good food in a great location. Children: Suitable for children. Childrens menu available. Dogs: Not in the main dining room, but in a separate dining room or bar area. Booking in advance is recommended if bringing a dog.

Lovely position in the centre of York on the riverside. Great for drinks on the terrace in the sunshine . Good food
