Has been described as a very nice hike with only a few switchbacks and is decently inclined but not strenuous. Mostly forested, with the switchbacks crossing the same rockslide a few times before leveling out with a view of the valley and ultimately the waterfall, which is cold and shaded after a hot hike in August. Allow an hour. You can continue on If the water level isn't high and you can easily wade through it to hike the Chief Joseph Trail. But if you continue on (it's one of the 3 trails for accessing the Chief Joseph mountain summit), this would require some serious mountaineering/bouldering to do.
